Our school has many programs and initiatives...
CAMPS AND EXCURSIONS:
Camps and Excursions provide wonderful opportunities for our students to new experiences in environments that can be sometimes challenging, always interesting and full of new learning. Some of these opportunities have a curriculum focus and supplement our students’ classroom program, while other experiences support the development of a range of social skills and competencies or provide social and emotional challenges in a safe and supported manner to contribute to each individual student’s growth.
Some regular excursion experiences that Doxa School provides are visits to a range of local activities and venues such as the Bendigo Art Gallery, the Central Deborah Gold Mine and the Chinese Museum to mention a few. There are opportunities for visits to regional towns and attractions like Echuca, Castlemaine or Hanging Rock. We also provide opportunities for students to attend the Theatre in Melbourne and an AFL game annually.
At Doxa School, we endeavour to have as many of our students as possible participate in our Camps and Excursions to the best of their ability and as such we offer opportunities for three-night and two-night camps of varying distance from home, as well as day trips.
Some of our recent overnight camp experiences have seen students visit Warrnambool and the Great Ocean Road, Halls Gap, the Doxa Youth Camp in Malmsbury and the Doxa City Camp. We have had students attend camps interstate in Tasmania, Canberra and Sydney. The Doxa School Camps and Excursions program is focussed on providing opportunities for all students to participate, no matter their personal circumstances or the challenges they might face.
